WHAT IS CHOLINE?
Choline is a nutrient that is sometimes been referred as Vitamin B4 or Vitamin J. The Institute of Medicine has identified choline as an essential nutrient because choline is important for cell growth in the brain and body. Most women get enough choline, however, during pregnancy babies may benefit from additional choline.
PREGNANCY AND CHOLINE
When a woman is pregnant and her baby is growing many new cells are formed, and the need for choline increases. Most pregnant women have enough choline in their own bodies or get enough from their diet for their baby to grow normally, but some babies may benefit from having their mothers consume additional choline.
